नक्षत्रेषु श्राद्धफलविधानम् (Śrāddha Outcomes According to Nakṣatras)
कुरुकुलका भार वहन करनेवाले पितामह! मैं आपके मुखसे यह तारक-वधका सम्पूर्ण वृत्तान्त सुनना चाहता हूँ। इसके लिये मेरे मनमें बड़ा कौतूहल है ।।
Bhīṣma uvāca: Vipannakṛtyā rājendra devatā ṛṣayas tathā | Kṛttikāś codayāmāsur apatya-bharaṇāya vai ||
Wika ni Bhīṣma: “O hari, nang malagay sa panganib at halos mabigo ang kanilang gawain, hinimok ng mga diyos at ng mga rishi ang anim na Kṛttikā na akuin ang pag-aaruga sa batang iyon, upang hindi masayang ang itinakdang layunin.”
भीष्म उवाच
When a righteous or necessary undertaking is threatened, dharma expresses itself as shared responsibility: capable agents are urged to protect and sustain what must be preserved, placing the welfare of the larger purpose above personal preference.
Bhīṣma explains that the gods and sages, seeing their plan endangered, prompt the six Kṛttikās to take up the task of nurturing the child (linked in the wider episode to the divine child’s care after complications in his birth narrative).
