Offerings for Ancestors and Their Stated Results
ततस्तस्मिन् सम्प्रवृत्ते सत्रे ज्वलितपावके । ब्रह्मणो जुद्वतस्तत्र प्रादुर्भावो बभूव ह,तदनन्तर प्रज्वलित अग्निवाले उस यज्ञके चालू होनेपर वहाँ ब्रह्माजीका वीर्य पुनः स्खलित हुआ
tatastasmīn sampravṛtte satre jvalitapāvake | brahmaṇo judvatastatra prādurbhāvo babhūva ha ||
Wika ni Vasiṣṭha: Pagkaraan, nang magsimula na ang mahabang pagtitipong handog (satra) at naglalagablab ang banal na apoy, naganap doon ang isang pagpapakita na may kaugnayan kay Brahmā—muling dumulas ang kanyang malikhaing diwa at binhi.
वसिष्ठ उवाच
The verse highlights the need for self-restraint and proper regulation of powerful creative impulses, even within sacred contexts. Dharma is not only ritual correctness but also mastery over inner forces that can disrupt or redirect a rite’s intended order.
As a long sacrificial session (satra) begins and the fire burns intensely, an event occurs involving Brahmā: a manifestation is described, understood in context as Brahmā’s generative essence again slipping forth during the rite.
