आत्मवद्‌ वै प्रयुड्जीरन्‌ संस्कारान्‌ ब्राह्मणादय: । धर्मशास्त्रेषु वर्णानां निश्चयो<यं प्रदृश्यते

ātmavad vai prayuñjīran saṃskārān brāhmaṇādayaḥ | dharmaśāstreṣu varṇānāṃ niścayo 'yaṃ pradṛśyate ||

Wika ni Bhishma: “Ang mga Brahmin at ang iba pang mga kaayusang panlipunan ay dapat magsagawa ng mga itinakdang saṃskāra—mga banal na ritwal—para sa kanilang mga anak na lalaki gaya ng ginagawa nila para sa kanilang sarili. Ito ang matibay na pasya na makikita sa mga Dharmaśāstra hinggil sa mga ritwal ng mga varṇa.”
