Devaśarmā–Vipula Dialogue on Ahorātra–Ṛtu as Moral Witnesses (अनुशासन पर्व, अध्याय ४३)

निरिन्द्रिया हुशास्त्राश्न स्त्रियोडनृतमिति श्रुति: । शय्यासनमलंकारमन्नपानमनार्यताम्‌

nirindriyā huśāstrāśna striyo 'nṛtam iti śrutiḥ | śayyāsanam alaṅkāram annapānam anāryatām ||

Wika ni Bhīṣma: “Ipinahahayag ng śruti na may mga bagay na naglalayo sa tao sa marangal na asal: pamumuhay na walang pagpipigil sa sarili, maling paggamit o pagbaluktot sa banal na aral, mga babae (kapag nilalapitan bilang bagay ng paglalayaw), at kasinungalingan. Gayundin, ang pagkalulong sa mararangyang higaan at upuan, labis na pagpapalamuti, at labis na pagkabahala sa pagkain at inumin—mga palatandaang humihila sa tao tungo sa anāryatā, ang kalagayang ‘di-marangal’ sa pag-uugali.”
