As a chapter-colophon, the line primarily marks closure: it frames the preceding discourse as instruction within dāna-dharma (the ethics of giving) and identifies its theme as brāhmaṇa-praśaṃsā (the honoring and esteem of Brāhmaṇas), implying that respect and appropriate support of learned and virtuous recipients is integral to righteous charity.
This is the formal concluding statement of the chapter. It announces that the “Praise of the Brāhmaṇas” chapter has ended within the Anuśāsana Parva’s dāna-dharma section, closing a unit of Bhīṣma’s instructional discourse.
