Mataṅga–Śakra Dialogue on Tapas, Status, and Moral Qualities
The verse teaches that sincere worship of Gaṅgā, performed with self-mastery (control of mind and senses) and a maternal attitude of trust and reverence, supports the aspirant’s higher spiritual aim—here expressed as attaining Brahmaloka—because Gaṅgā protects and nurtures her devotees like a mother protects her children.
A Siddha describes Gaṅgā’s divine role: she compassionately watches over the worlds and especially those who take refuge in her, protecting them as a mother would. On that basis, he instructs seekers of the Brahman-world to worship her continually with disciplined minds.
