Gṛhastha-Vrata

Austerity (tapas) and disciplined virtue can lead to attainment of higher, eternal realms described as free from return to mortal life—an ideal of lasting spiritual fruition rather than temporary heavenly reward.
Bhishma is assuring the listener that, along with a woman companion, they will reach the eternal worlds gained through their ascetic merit—realms characterized by permanence and freedom from returning to worldly existence.
