Anuśāsana-parva 17
दीर्घश्व हरिकेशश्व सुतीर्थ: कृष्ण एव च | शृगालरूप: सिद्धार्थो मुण्ड: सर्वशुभड़कर:
dīrghaśva harikeśaś ca sutīrthaḥ kṛṣṇa eva ca | śṛgālarūpaḥ siddhārtho muṇḍaḥ sarvaśubhaṅkaraḥ ||
Wika ni Vāyu-deva: “Kilala siya sa maraming pangalan—Dīrghaśva, Harikeśa, Sutīrtha, at Kṛṣṇa; nag-aanyong asong-gubat (jackal) din siya; siya si Siddhārtha (yaong laging natutupad ang mga layon), si Muṇḍa (ang ahit-ulong pulubi-monghe), at si Sarvaśubhaṅkara, ang mapagkawanggawang nagdadala ng pagpapala sa lahat ng nilalang.”
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse emphasizes the many names and forms through which the divine may be recognized—majestic, sacred, ascetic, and even seemingly humble or animal-like—while remaining fundamentally a universal benefactor who brings auspiciousness to all.
Vāyu-deva is describing the subject through a string of epithets, highlighting varied manifestations and attributes—sacredness (as a tīrtha), transcendence (Kṛṣṇa), accomplished power (Siddhārtha), ascetic guise (Muṇḍa), and beneficence (Sarvaśubhaṅkara).
