अपना बछ। अफड-ण क्र एकोनषष्टर्याधेकशततमो< ध्याय: श्रीकृष्णका प्रद्मुम्नको ब्राह्मणोंकी महिमा बताते हुए दुर्वासाके चरित्रका वर्णन करना और यह सारा प्रसंग युधिष्ठिरको सुनाना युधिछिर उवाच ब्रृहि ब्राह्मणपूजायां व्युष्टिं त्वं मधुसूदन । वेत्ता त्वमस्य चार्थस्य वेद त्वां हि पितामह:
Yudhiṣṭhira uvāca | brūhi brāhmaṇapūjāyāṁ vyuṣṭiṁ tvaṁ Madhusūdana | vettā tvam asya cārthasya veda tvāṁ hi Pitāmahaḥ ||
Sinabi ni Yudhiṣṭhira: “O Madhusūdana, ipahayag mo sa akin ang tunay na bunga at pakinabang na nagmumula sa paggalang at pagsamba sa mga Brāhmaṇa. Batid mo nang lubos ang diwa ng bagay na ito, at maging ang aking lolo ay kumikilala sa iyo bilang nakaaalam nito.”
युधिछिर उवाच
The verse frames a dharmic inquiry: honoring Brāhmaṇas is treated as a significant ethical-religious act whose ‘fruit’ (vyuṣṭi) should be understood from an authoritative knower (Kṛṣṇa), emphasizing reverence, right conduct, and the pursuit of merit through proper respect to learned and virtuous persons.
Yudhiṣṭhira, seeking guidance, asks Kṛṣṇa to explain the benefits of Brāhmaṇa-worship/honor. He strengthens the request by noting that Bhīṣma (the Pitāmaha) recognizes Kṛṣṇa as a reliable authority on this topic, setting up the ensuing discourse.
