अध्याय १६ — शङ्कर-उमा-वरदानम् तथा तण्डि-स्तुतिः (Śaṅkara–Umā Boon-Granting and Taṇḍi’s Hymn)

अन्तरहिते भगवति सानुगे यादवेश्वर । ऋषिराश्रममागम्य ममैतत्‌ प्रोक्ततानिह,यादवेश्वर! जब पार्षदोंसहित भगवान्‌ अन्तर्धान हो गये, तब ऋषिने मेरे आश्रमपर आकर यहाँ मुझसे ये सब बातें बतायीं

antarhite bhagavati sānuge yādaveśvara | ṛṣir āśramam āgamya mamaitat proktavān iha ||

O Panginoon ng mga Yādava, nang maglaho sa paningin ang Pinagpalang Panginoon kasama ang Kaniyang mga kasama, dumating ang pantas sa aking ermitanyo at dito niya isinalaysay sa akin ang lahat ng bagay na ito. Ipinahihiwatig ng talatang ito ang tapat na pagpapasa ng mga banal na pangyayari: kapag ang banal ay di na nakikita, ang pananagutang ingatan at ipahayag ang katotohanan ay nasa mapagkakatiwalaang mga tagakita at sa disiplinadong pakikinig.
