अध्याय १६ — शङ्कर-उमा-वरदानम् तथा तण्डि-स्तुतिः (Śaṅkara–Umā Boon-Granting and Taṇḍi’s Hymn)
उत्पत्तौ च विनाशे च कारण य॑ विदुर्बुधा: । देवासुरमुनीनां च परं यस्मान्न विद्यते
utpattau ca vināśe ca kāraṇaṁ yad vidur budhāḥ | devāsura-munīnāṁ ca paraṁ yasmān na vidyate ||
Wika ni Vāyu: “Siya na kinikilala ng mga pantas na sanhi ng paglitaw at pagkalusaw ng sanlibutan; at na wala nang hihigit pa kahit sa hanay ng mga deva, asura, at mga rishi—sa Kataas-taasang Panginoong iyon (Mahādeva) ako’y kumakanlong.”
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse teaches that the highest reality—identified here with Mahādeva—is the ultimate cause of both creation and dissolution, surpassing all beings (even gods, asuras, and sages), and is therefore worthy of taking refuge in.
Vāyudeva is offering a hymn of praise, declaring Mahādeva’s supremacy and cosmic causality, framing the devotion as an act of surrender to the highest Lord.
