अध्याय १६ — शङ्कर-उमा-वरदानम् तथा तण्डि-स्तुतिः (Śaṅkara–Umā Boon-Granting and Taṇḍi’s Hymn)
इन्द्रियाणीन्द्रियार्थाश्व॒ प्रकृतिभ्य: परं ध्रुवम् । विश्वाविश्वपरोभावद्चिन्त्याचिन्त्यस्त्वमेव हि
indriyāṇīndriyārthāś ca prakṛtibhyaḥ paraṃ dhruvam | viśvâviśva-paro bhāvāc cintyācintyas tvam eva hi ||
Wika ni Vāyu: “Ikaw mismo ang mga pandama at ang mga bagay na kanilang nasasaklaw. Ikaw ang matatag at di-nasisirang Katotohanan na lampas sa Prakṛti. Higit sa kapwa nahahayag na daigdig at sa lampas sa paghahayag, ikaw ang natatanging kalagayan ng pag-iral; at ikaw lamang ang kapwa maiisip at di-maiisip.”
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse presents a theological-metaphysical vision of the Supreme as all-inclusive (both senses and their objects) yet also transcendent (beyond Prakṛti, beyond manifest and unmanifest). It emphasizes that the Divine can be approached by thought and description, yet ultimately exceeds conceptual grasp (cintya and acintya).
Vāyudeva is offering a hymn of praise, describing the addressed deity as the ground of experience (senses and objects) and the immutable reality beyond nature. The speech functions as a stuti that elevates the listener from ordinary perception to contemplation of the Supreme’s immanence and transcendence.
