Mahabharata — Anushasana Parva, Shloka 153

इत्येते द्वादशादित्या: काश्यपेया इति श्रुति: । वेदके शतरुद्रिय प्रकरणमें महात्मा रुद्रके सैकड़ों नाम बताये गये हैं। अंश

ity ete dvādaśādityāḥ kāśyapeyā iti śrutiḥ |

Wika ni Bhīṣma: “Kaya nga, ito ang labindalawang Āditya; ipinahahayag ng śruti (banal na tradisyon) na sila’y mga anak ni Kaśyapa.” Sa ganitong diwa ng aral, inilalagay ang mga diyos na solar sa isang sagradong talaangkanan, upang ipakita na ang kaayusan ng sansinukob ay pinangangalagaan ng kinikilalang mga lahing banal at ng kapahayagang may ganap na kapangyarihan.
