न क्रोधो न च मात्सर्य न लोभो नाशुभा मति: । भवन्ति कृतपुण्यानां भक्तानां पुरुषोत्तमे
na krodho na ca mātsaryaṁ na lobho nāśubhā matiḥ | bhavanti kṛta-puṇyānāṁ bhaktānāṁ puruṣottame ||
Wika ni Bhīṣma: Sa mga debotong nagtipon ng kabutihan at ang debosyon ay nakatuon sa Kataas-taasang Persona (Puruṣottama), hindi sumisibol ang galit, ni inggit, ni kasakiman; at ang kanilang pag-unawa ay hindi kailanman lumilihis tungo sa marumi o mapanakit.
भीष्म उवाच
True devotion to Puruṣottama, supported by accumulated merit and right conduct, naturally weakens and removes inner vices—anger, envy, and greed—and keeps the intellect from turning toward impure or harmful aims.
