Śiva-darśana through Tapas and Stuti (उपमन्यु–कृष्ण संवादः)
वायुदेव उवाच एवं दत्त्वा वरान् देवो मम देवी च भारत । अन्तर्हित: क्षणे तस्मिन् सगणो भीमपूर्वज
Vāyudeva uvāca: evaṃ dattvā varān devo mama devī ca Bhārata | antarhitaḥ kṣaṇe tasmin sagaṇo Bhīmapūrvaja ||
Wika ni Vāyudeva: “O Bhārata, matapos ipagkaloob sa akin ang mga biyayang ito, ang Diyos (Mahādeva) at ang aking Diyosa (Pārvatī) ay naglaho sa mismong sandaling iyon, kasama ang kanilang mga tagasunod.”
वायुदेव उवाच
Divine favors (boons) are not ends in themselves; they call for humility and responsible, dharmic use. The gods’ immediate disappearance highlights that the seeker must now live out the gift through conduct rather than continued dependence on visible divine intervention.
Vāyudeva recounts that Śiva (Mahādeva) and Pārvatī, after granting him boons, vanish instantly along with Śiva’s gaṇas. The address “Bhārata” and the epithet “Bhīmapūrvaja” situate the telling as directed to a Bharata-descendant, specifically Bhīma’s elder brother (Yudhiṣṭhira).
