एवमस्त्विति तद्वाक्यं मयोक्त: प्राह शड्कर: । ततो मां जगतो माता धारिणी सर्वपावनी

evam astv iti tad-vākyaṁ mayoktaḥ prāha śaṅkaraḥ | tato māṁ jagato mātā dhāriṇī sarva-pāvanī …

Nang masabi ko ang mga salitang iyon, sinabi ni Śaṅkara, “Mangyari nawa.” Pagkaraan, ang Ina ng sanlibutan—siya na nagtataguyod sa lahat at nagpapadalisay sa lahat—(si Umā, kabiyak ni Rudra) ay nagsalita nang nakatuon ang isip: “O walang sala, ipinagkaloob sa iyo ng Panginoon ang isang anak na lalaki na ang pangalan ay Sāmba.”
