सर्वातिथ्यं त्रिवर्गस्य कुर्वाण: सुमना: सदा । शूद्राणां चान्नकामानां नित्यं सिद्धमिति ब्रुवन्‌

sarvātithyaṁ trivargasya kurvāṇaḥ sumanāḥ sadā | śūdrāṇāṁ cānna-kāmānāṁ nityaṁ siddham iti bruvan ||

Sinabi ni Mahādeva: “Ang isang kṣatriya, na laging masaya ang loob, ay dapat patuloy na magsagawa ng pangkalahatang pag-aasikaso sa panauhin; at habang ginagawa iyon, itaguyod niya ang tatlong layunin ng buhay—dharma, artha, at kāma—sa wastong sukat. At kapag ang mga śūdra na naghahangad ng pagkain ay lumapit at humingi, lagi niyang sagutin, ‘Nakahanda na (naipaghanda) para sa inyo,’ at anyayahan silang kumain nang walang pagkaantala.”
