Śatarudrīya-prabhāva and Rudra’s Supremacy (शतरुद्रीयप्रभावः)

नारद उवाच तपश्चचार धर्मात्मा वृषभाड्क: सुरेश्वर: । पुण्ये गिरो हिमवति सिद्धचारणसेविते

nārada uvāca | tapaś cacāra dharmātmā vṛṣabhāṅkaḥ sureśvaraḥ | puṇye girau himavati siddhacāraṇasevite ||

Wika ni Nārada: Si Śiva—ang matuwid na Panginoon ng mga diyos, may tatak ng toro—ay nagsasagawa ng matinding pag-aayuno at pagninilay (tapas) sa banal na kabundukang Himalaya, isang sagradong lupain na dinadalaw ng mga Siddha at Cāraṇa. Ipinahihiwatig ng tagpong ito ang huwaran ng banal na pagpipigil: maging ang kataas-taasang diyos ay tumitindig sa dharma sa pamamagitan ng tapas, kaya’t ang Himalaya’y nagiging sagisag ng kadalisayan, pagpipigil, at pag-abot sa espirituwal na kaganapan.
