ब्राह्मणपूजायां व्युष्टिः — Vyuṣṭi (Merit-Outcome) of Honoring Brāhmaṇas: Kṛṣṇa and Durvāsā
त्वत्तो धर्मार्थसंयुक्तमायत्यां च सुखोदयम् | आश्चर्यभूतं लोकस्य श्रोतुमिच्छाम्यरिंदम,शत्रुदमन! मैं आपके मुखसे अब ऐसे विषयका वर्णन सुनना चाहता हूँ, जो धर्म और अर्थसे युक्त, भविष्यमें सुख देनेवाला और संसारके लिये अद्भुत हो
tvattō dharmārthasaṁyuktam āyatyāṁ ca sukhodayam | āścaryabhūtaṁ lokasya śrotum icchāmy ariṁdama śatrudamana ||
Sinabi ni Yudhiṣṭhira: “Mula sa iyo nais kong marinig ang isang salaysay—nakaugat sa dharma at artha, maghahatid ng ligaya sa hinaharap, at kagila-gilalas na marinig ng daigdig, O manlulupig ng mga kaaway.”
युधिछिर उवाच
The verse frames ideal instruction as that which unites dharma (ethical right) with artha (practical welfare), and is judged by its long-term fruits—future happiness and benefit—rather than immediate gain alone.
Yudhiṣṭhira respectfully requests the elder teacher to narrate a remarkable teaching or account that is ethically sound, practically useful, and beneficial for the future—setting up a didactic discourse in the Anuśāsana Parva.
