Adhyāya 142: Cyavana, the Devas’ Arrogance, and Vāyu’s Counsel on Protecting Brāhmaṇas
रामो दाशरथिश्वैव हुत्वा यज्ञेषु वै वसु । स गतो हाक्षयाँललोकान् यस्य लोके महद् यश:
rāmo dāśarathiś caiva hutvā yajñeṣu vai vasu | sa gato 'kṣayāṁl lokān yasya loke mahad yaśaḥ ||
Wika ni Bhīṣma: Si Rama, anak ni Daśaratha, matapos maghandog ng saganang yaman bilang mga alay sa mga yajña, ay nagtatag ng dakilang karangalan sa mundong ito at pagkaraan ay nakamtan ang mga daigdig na di-nasisira.
भीष्म उवाच
Righteous leadership is shown through sacrificial duty and generous giving; fame rooted in dharma and public beneficence supports one’s passage to imperishable spiritual realms.
Bhishma cites Rama, son of Dasharatha, as a model king who performed sacrifices and offered abundant wealth, gained great renown in the world, and then attained the imperishable worlds.
