Educational Q&A

This line is a colophon marking the close of a chapter situated in the discourse on dāna-dharma (the ethics and duty of giving). Its ethical frame highlights that the surrounding material treats charity as a regulated moral practice within dharma.

The text is not advancing the story here; it is formally concluding a chapter: it locates the chapter within Anuśāsana Parva, within the dāna-dharma section, and identifies the topical setting as the episode connected with Maitreya’s alms.
