Educational Q&A

The verse uses vivid celestial imagery—radiant, ornamented chariots with divine maidens and victory-cries—to suggest the honor and exalted reward that follow righteous conduct and accumulated merit, reinforcing the Anuśāsana Parva’s emphasis on dharma and its fruits.

Bhīṣma describes a splendid procession: behind the foremost figures come many shining, decorated chariots moving amid joyful acclamations of victory, and celestial maidens are seated upon those chariots.
