मानसतीर्थ-शौचप्रशंसा | Praise of the ‘Mental Tīrtha’ and the Marks of Purity

सदा द्वादशमासान्‌ वै जुह्मानो जातवेदसम्‌ | अश्वमेधसहस्रस्य फल प्राप्रोत्यनुत्तमम्‌

sadā dvādaśa-māsān vai juhvāno jātavedasam | aśvamedha-sahasrasya phalaṁ prāpnoty anuttamam ||

Wika ni Bhishma: Ang sinumang sa buong labindalawang buwan ay patuloy na naghahandog ng alay sa banal na apoy (kay Agni, si Jātavedas, ang nakaaalam ng lahat ng kapanganakan) ay nagkakamit ng walang kapantay na kabutihang-kaloob, na katumbas ng isang libong Aśvamedha. Itinatanghal ng aral ang matatag na araw-araw na pagsamba at pagpipigil bilang landas na ang lakas-etika ay kayang tumapat kahit sa pinakadakilang ritwal ng mga hari.
