Educational Q&A

Sustained, disciplined ritual worship—especially regular offerings into Agni across the full annual cycle—is presented as a dharmic practice that yields exalted posthumous reward: joyful residence in a divine realm (the abode of the Ādityas) for a long duration.

In Bhīṣma’s instruction on dharma, he describes the फल (result) of a specific observance: continual fire-offerings to Agni over twelve months. He states that such a practitioner rejoices and dwells long in the realm associated with the Ādityas.
