प्रौष्ठदं तु यो मासमेकाहारो भवेन्नर: । गवाद्यं स्फीतमचलमैश्चर्य प्रतिपद्यते,जो मनुष्य भाद्रपद मासमें एक समय भोजन करके रहता है, वह गोधनसे सम्पन्न, समृद्धिशील तथा अविचल ऐश्वर्यका भागी होता है
prauṣṭhapadaṃ tu yo māsam ekāhāro bhaven naraḥ | gavādyaṃ sphītam acalam aiśvaryaṃ pratipadyate ||
Wika ni Aṅgirā: Ang lalaking sa buwan ng Prauṣṭhapada (Bhādrapada) ay namumuhay na isang beses lamang kumakain sa maghapon, ay nagkakamit ng matatag at lumalago na kasaganaan—na nagsisimula sa saganang yaman ng mga baka—at nagtatamo ng di-matitinag na karangyaan ng pagka-panginoon.
अंगियरा उवाच
Practicing disciplined moderation—specifically eating once daily during the month of Prauṣṭhapada/Bhādrapada—is presented as a dharmic observance that yields stable, flourishing prosperity, symbolized by cattle-wealth and enduring aiśvarya.
In Anuśāsana Parva’s instruction on vows and their fruits, the sage Aṅgirā states the benefit of a month-long ekāhāra observance in Prauṣṭhapada: the practitioner gains abundant and steady prosperity.
