आचारप्रशंसा

Praise of Ācāra as the Basis of Longevity, Fame, and Prosperity

पर्वकालेषु सर्वेषु ब्रहद्मयचारी सदा भवेत्‌ | मनुष्य सभी पर्वोके समय स्नान करके पवित्र हो वस्त्र एवं आभूषणोंसे विभूषित होकर उपवास करे तथा पर्वकालमें सदा ही ब्रह्मचर्यका पालन करे ।।

parvakāleṣu sarveṣu brahmacārī sadā bhavet | samānam ekapātre tu bhuñjennānnaṃ janeśvara |

Sinabi ni Bhīṣma: “Sa bawat banal na panahon ng kapistahan, dapat laging mamuhay bilang brahmacārin—pagkaligo at pagkapuripuri, magsuot ng malilinis na kasuotan at palamuti, at mag-ayuno. O panginoon ng mga tao, huwag kumain na kasama ang iba mula sa iisang sisidlan. Huwag kainin ang pagkaing nadungisan ng haplos ng babaeng may buwanang dalaw; huwag ding kainin ang bagay na naalisan na ng katas o diwa. At huwag kumain nang hindi muna nagbibigay sa taong nakatitig sa pagkain nang may pananabik.”
