ययाति-देवयानी-शर्मिष्ठा विवादः — Śukra’s Curse and the Disclosure of Lineage

एवमुक्तस्तु सहितैस्त्रिदशैर्मघवांस्तदा । तथेत्युक्त्वा प्रचक्राम सोडपश्यत वने स्त्रिय:,संगठित होकर आये हुए देवताओंद्वारा इस प्रकार कहे जानेपर इन्द्र “बहुत अच्छा' कहकर भूलोकमें आये। वहाँ एक वनमें उन्होंने बहुत-सी स्त्रियोंको देखा

evam uktas tu sahitais tridaśair maghavāṁs tadā | tathety uktvā pracakrāma so 'paśyat vane striyaḥ ||

Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: Nang siya’y kausapin nang gayon ng mga nagkakatipong diyos, si Maghavān (Indra) noon ay sumagot, “Mangyari nawa,” at naglakbay patungo sa daigdig ng mga tao. Doon, sa isang gubat, nakita niya ang maraming kababaihan.
