ययाति–देवयानी संवादः
Yayāti–Devayānī Dialogue and Śukra’s Consent
ब्रह्मचर्य चरिष्यामि त्वय्यहं परमं गुरौ । अनुमन्यस्व मां ब्रह्मनू सहस्नं परिवत्सरान्,'ब्रह्मन! आप मेरे गुरु हैं। मैं आपके समीप रहकर एक हजार वर्षोतक उत्तम ब्रह्मचर्यका पालन करूँगा। इसके लिये आप मुझे अनुमति दें”
brahmacaryaṁ cariṣyāmi tvayy ahaṁ paramaṁ gurau | anuman yasva māṁ brahmanū sahasraṁ parivatsarān |
Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: “O Brahmana, ikaw ang aking pinakadakilang guro. Mananatili ako sa iyong piling at tutuparin ang pinakamataas na disiplina ng brahmacarya sa loob ng ganap na isang libong taon. Ipagkaloob mo ang iyong pagsang-ayon sa panatang ito.”
