Duḥṣantasya Vana-praveśaḥ
King Duḥṣanta’s Entry into the Forest Hunt
The verse underscores that true righteousness (dharma) can manifest through human character: Vidura is presented as Dharma embodied—wise and morally untainted—while Saṃjaya’s sage-like nature highlights that virtue and insight are not confined to ascetic orders but can arise in worldly roles as well.
The speaker identifies two significant births: Vidura is described as the manifestation of Dharma in human form, and simultaneously Saṃjaya is said to be born from Gavalgaṇa as a sūta possessing sage-like wisdom and dharmic conduct.
