स॒ एवमुक्त उपाध्यायेनेष्टं देश जगाम । अथापर: शिष्यस्तस्यैवायोदस्य धौम्यस्योपमन्युर्नाम,उपाध्यायके इस प्रकार आशीर्वाद देनेपर आरुणि कृतकृत्य हो अपने अभीष्ट देशको चला गया। उन्हीं आयोदधौम्य उपाध्यायका उपमन्यु नामक दूसरा शिष्य था
sa evam ukta upādhyāyenaiṣṭaṃ deśaṃ jagāma | athāparaḥ śiṣyas tasyaivāyodasya dhaumyasyopamanyur nāma |
Nang siya’y masabihan at mabasbasan ng kanyang guro, si Āruṇi—natupad na ang tungkulin—ay umalis patungo sa pook na kanyang ninanais. Pagkaraan, ang salaysay ay lumipat sa isa pang alagad ng kaparehong guro, si Ayoda-Dhaumya: isang mag-aaral na nagngangalang Upamanyu.
