शान्तिपर्व ततो यत्र राजधर्मानुशासनम् | आपद्धर्मश्न पर्वोक्त मोक्षधर्मस्ततः परम्,इसके बाद शान्तिपर्व प्रारम्भ होता है; जिसमें राजधर्मानुशासन, आपद्धर्म और मोक्षधर्मपर्व हैं
Śāntiparva tato yatra rājadharmānuśāsanam | āpaddharmaś ca parvokto mokṣadharmas tataḥ param ||
Pagkaraan nito ay dumarating ang Śānti Parva, kung saan inilalahad ang aral tungkol sa tungkulin ng hari at pamamahala; taglay din nito ang turo sa wastong asal sa panahon ng kapahamakan (āpaddharma), at higit pa roon ang pagtalakay sa paglaya (mokṣadharma).

The verse maps the ethical curriculum of the Śānti Parva: first, normative public ethics through rājadharma (ideal governance and justice); second, situational ethics through āpaddharma (what may be permitted or required under emergency); and finally, the highest aim through mokṣadharma (the path toward liberation).
