ahāni yuyudhe bhīṣmo daśaiva paramāstravit | ahāni pañca droṇas tu rarakṣa kuruvāhinīm ||
Si Bhīṣma, ang sukdulang dalubhasa sa mga sandatang makalangit, ay lumaban sa loob ng sampung araw. Pagkaraan, si Droṇa ang nag-ingat at nagtaguyod sa hukbong Kuru sa loob ng limang araw.
