समन्तपञ्चक-आख्यानम् तथा अक्षौहिणी-प्रमाणनिर्णयः

Samantapañcaka Narrative and the Measure of an Akṣauhiṇī

आर्डिषेणाश्रमे चैषां गमनं वास एव च । प्रोत्साहनं च पाउचाल्या भीमस्यात्र महात्मन:,तत्पश्चात्‌ भीमसेनके द्वारा जटासुर राक्षसका वध हुआ। फिर पाण्डव क्रमशः राजर्षि वृषपर्वा और आर्श्षिणके आश्रमपर गये और वहीं रहने लगे। यहीं द्रौपदी महात्मा भीमसेनको प्रोत्साहित करती रही। भीमसेन कैलासपर्वतपर चढ़ गये। यहीं अपनी शक्तिके नशेमें चूर मणिमान्‌ आदि यक्षोंके साथ उनका अत्यन्त घोर युद्ध हुआ

Ārḍiṣeṇāśrame caiṣāṁ gamanaṁ vāsa eva ca | protsāhanaṁ ca pāñcālyā bhīmasyātra mahātmanaḥ ||

Dito isinasalaysay ang pagpunta nila sa ermitanyo ni Ārḍiṣeṇa at ang paninirahan nila roon, gayundin kung paanong pinalakas ni Pāñcālī (Draupadī) ang loob ng dakilang-si Bhīma. Sa kaugnay na salaysay, pinatay ni Bhīmasena ang rākṣasa na si Jaṭāsura; pagkaraan, ang mga Pāṇḍava ay sunod-sunod na nagtungo sa mga ermitanyong kaugnay ng mga maharlikang rishi (kabilang si Vṛṣaparvan) at nanatili roon.
