ऊचुश्न सहितास्तत्र साध्विमौ ब्राह्मणर्षभौ । विज्ञायेतां क्वजन्मानौ क्वनिवासौ तथैव च
ūcuḥ sma sahitās tatra sādhv imau brāhmaṇarṣabhau | vijñāyetāṃ kva janmānau kva nivāsau tathaiva ca ||
Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: Pagkaraan, sabay-sabay silang sumigaw doon, “Ah! Ang dalawang Brahmanang ito ay tunay na karapat-dapat—mga toro sa hanay ng mga Brahmana. Alamin kung saan sila isinilang at kung saan din sila naninirahan.” Ang papuring ito ng karamihan ay sumasalamin sa likas na paggalang sa hayag na kabutihan at sa pagnanais na malaman ang pinagmulan ng mga taong ang asal ay nagbubunsod ng pagpipitagan.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights a social-ethical impulse: genuine virtue naturally draws reverence, and communities seek to know the origins and dwelling of exemplary persons—both to honor them and to understand the sources of their conduct.
A group of people, speaking in unison, praises two outstanding Brahmin figures and urges others to ascertain their birthplace and residence, indicating public admiration and curiosity about their identity.
