उच्चैःश्रवसः वर्णविपणः तथा नागशापः
Uccaiḥśravas Color-Wager and the Nāga Curse
एतत् तदद्धुतं दृष्टवा निराशा दानवा: स्थिता: । अमृतार्थे च लक्ष्म्यर्थे महान्तं वैरमाश्रिता:,ये सब अदभुत बातें देखकर दानव निराश हो गये और अमृत तथा लक्ष्मीके लिये उन्होंने देवताओंके साथ महान् वैर बाँध लिया
etat tad adbhutaṁ dṛṣṭvā nirāśā dānavāḥ sthitāḥ | amṛtārthe ca lakṣmyarthe mahāntaṁ vairam āśritāḥ ||
Nang makita ang kahanga-hangang pangyayaring iyon, nanlumo ang mga Dānava. Dahil sa pagnanasa sa amṛta at sa Lakṣmī, niyakap nila ang isang malaking pagkapoot laban sa mga Deva.
