Aurva Episode: Restoration of Sight and Restraint of World-Destructive Anger
The verse highlights the ethical need for discernment and respectful distance in the presence of a powerful or unknown being; recognition (abhijñāna) and appropriate conduct prevent rash, disrespectful approach.
A speaker (reported by Vaiśampāyana) warns a group not to come close and challenges them for failing to recognize him after he has entered the waters of the Bhāgīrathī (Gaṅgā), setting up a tense encounter and self-identification.
