Vasiṣṭhasya śokaḥ, Vipāśā–Śatadrū-nāmākaraṇam, Kalmāṣapādasya bhaya-prasaṅgaḥ (Ādi Parva 167)
क्षत्रोच्छेदाय विहितो जामदग्न्य इवास्थित: । तस्य हा[स्त्रबलं घोरमप्रधृष्यं नरैर्भुवि,“मानो जमदग्निनन्दन परशुरामजीकी भाँति क्षत्रियोंका संहार करनेके लिये उनकी सृष्टि हुई है। उनका अस्त्रबल बड़ा भयंकर है। पृथ्वीके सब मनुष्य मिलकर भी उसे दबा नहीं सकते
kṣatrocchedāya vihito jāmadagnya ivāsthitaḥ | tasya hāstrabalaṃ ghoraṃ apradhṛṣyaṃ narair bhuvi ||
Wika ng Brahmana: “Itinakda siya upang lipulin ang mga kṣatriya, na tumindig na gaya ni Jāmadagnya (Paraśurāma). Nakapanghihilakbot ang lakas ng kaniyang mga sandata—sa ibabaw ng daigdig na ito, hindi siya kayang daigin ng mga tao.”
ब्राह्मण उवाच
The verse frames extraordinary martial violence as a role ‘ordained’ for a specific agent, warning that unchecked weapon-power becomes socially irresistible; it raises an ethical tension between divinely sanctioned retribution and the danger of overwhelming force in human society.
A Brāhmaṇa describes a formidable figure whose mission is the destruction of Kṣatriyas, explicitly comparing him to Paraśurāma; the speaker emphasizes that his weapon-might is so fearsome that no men on earth can subdue it.
