बकवधोत्तर-प्रशमनम् | Post-slaying Stabilization after Baka’s Death
क्रूरो मानुषमांसादो महावीर्यपराक्रम: । प्रावड्जलधरश्याम: पिज्ञाक्षो दारुणाकृति:,वह बड़ा क्रूर और मनुष्यमांस खानेवाला था। उसका बल और पराक्रम महान् था। वह वर्षाकालके मेघकी भाँति काला था। उसकी आँखें भूरे रंगकी थीं और आकृतिसे क्रूरता टपक रही थी
vaiśampāyana uvāca | krūro mānuṣamāṃsādo mahāvīryaparākramaḥ | prāvaḍjaladharaśyāmaḥ piṅgākṣo dāruṇākṛtiḥ |
Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: Siya’y mabagsik, kumakain ng laman ng tao, at may napakalaking lakas at nakapanghihilakbot na tapang. Maitim na gaya ng ulap sa tag-ulan, may matang kayumangging dilaw at anyong kasindak-sindak; wari’y siya ang larawan ng adharma na nagbabantang gumiba sa kaayusang moral.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse uses stark physical and moral imagery to mark cannibalistic cruelty as a sign of adharma. By portraying such a being as terrifying and morally inverted, the narrative reinforces the ethical boundary that human life is inviolable and that predatory violence is a threat to social and cosmic order.
Vaiśampāyana is describing a fearsome being—cruel, cannibalistic, immensely powerful, dark like a monsoon cloud, with tawny eyes and a dreadful form—setting the tone for an encounter with a dangerous, unrighteous figure.
