कृच्छेण मातरं चैव सुकुमारी यशस्विनीम् । अवहत् स तु पृष्ठेन रोधस्तु विषमेषु च,भीमसेन अपनी सुकुमारी एवं यशस्विनी माता कुन्तीको पीठपर बिठाकर नदीके ऊँचे- नीचे कगारोंपर बड़ी कठिनाईसे ले जाते थे
kṛcchreṇa mātaraṃ caiva sukumārīṃ yaśasvinīm | avahat sa tu pṛṣṭhena rodhastu viṣameṣu ca ||

वैशम्पायन उवाच
