dve pavitre gṛhītvātha bhājane kṣālite punaḥ / śaṃ no devyā jalaṃ kṣiptvā yavo 'sīti yavāṃstathā
Sūta (narrating the ritual instruction as received in the Kurma Purana tradition)
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
Indirectly: it frames external purification (water, mantra, consecrated substances) as supportive discipline, preparing the practitioner for inner purity where realization of the Self becomes possible.
It highlights preparatory purificatory acts (saṃskāra, prokṣaṇa, mantra-śuddhi) that function as auxiliaries to Yoga—steadying attention, sanctifying the ritual field, and aligning conduct with dharma before deeper contemplation.
By emphasizing shared dharmic ritual technologies (mantra, purity, consecration) honored across Shaiva and Vaishnava streams, it reflects the Purana’s synthetic outlook where devotional-ritual order supports a unified pursuit of the Supreme.
