कृतज्ञश्च तथाद्रोही मेधावी शुभकृन्नरः / आप्तः प्रियो ऽथ विधिवत् षडध्याप्या द्विजातयः / एतेषु ब्रह्मणो दानमन्यत्र तु यथोदितान्
kṛtajñaśca tathādrohī medhāvī śubhakṛnnaraḥ / āptaḥ priyo 'tha vidhivat ṣaḍadhyāpyā dvijātayaḥ / eteṣu brahmaṇo dānamanyatra tu yathoditān
Ang taong marunong tumanaw ng utang na loob, hindi mapagtaksil, matalino at masigasig sa mabubuting gawa; gayundin ang mapagkakatiwalaan at minamahal; at ang mga dvija na ayon sa tuntunin ay nagtuturo ng anim na Vedāṅga—sa mga ganito dapat ipagkaloob ang handog ng banal na kaalaman (brahma-dāna). Kung hindi, magbigay lamang ayon sa naunang itinakda.
