Purāṇic narrator (Sūta/Vyāsa tradition) describing lineage
Primary Rasa: vira
Secondary Rasa: shanta
This verse is genealogical rather than metaphysical; it supports the Purāṇic view that dharma is preserved through righteous lineages, within which later teachings on Ātman and Īśvara are transmitted.
No direct yogic technique is taught here; instead, it emphasizes kṣatriya-dharma through Dhanurveda mastery, which in the Kurma Purana functions as a social foundation (varṇāśrama) that supports higher disciplines like Pāśupata-oriented devotion and yoga elsewhere.
The verse does not explicitly mention Śiva or Viṣṇu; indirectly, it fits the Kurma Purana’s integrative frame where worldly duties (like royal discipline and Dhanurveda) are harmonized with later Śaiva-Vaiṣṇava spiritual teachings.
