Suta (narrator) recounting the lineage to the sages
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: shringara
This verse is genealogical rather than doctrinal; it situates sacred history through lineage, which later chapters use as a framework for dharma and liberation teachings, but it does not directly define the Ātman.
No explicit yoga practice is taught in this verse; it functions as narrative groundwork, while yoga and Pāśupata-oriented disciplines are treated in later, more instructional sections of the Kurma Purana.
It does not explicitly address Shiva–Vishnu synthesis; it contributes to the Purana’s broader sacred-historical setting in which later teachings integrate Shaiva and Vaishnava perspectives.
