Lord Vishnu (narration to Garuda, Vinata-putra)
Concept: The highest life-purpose is exclusive service to Viṣṇu; divine inspiration (vāyu-āveśa) empowers the devotee to act as the Lord’s limb in the world.
Vedantic Theme: Bhagavān as the inner controller (antaryāmin) guiding instruments; bhakti as alignment with cosmic order.
Application: Adopt ‘sevā-only’ intentionality in work; seek prāṇa-discipline (breath, steadiness) to keep inspiration pure and service-oriented.
Primary Rasa: vira
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
Type: avatāra-kṣetra / itihāsa-bhūmi
Related Themes: Garuda Purana 3.28 (Uddhava identification; aṅga/aṁśa service motif)
This verse frames seva as the core purpose of a saintly presence on earth—an intimate ‘limb’ of Viṣṇu acts in the world primarily to serve and support divine order.
It presents Uddhava as a divinely purposed figure connected to Viṣṇu’s mission of relieving Earth’s burden, identified here with Bṛhaspati empowered by Vāyu’s impulse.
Prioritize selfless service, disciplined counsel, and actions that reduce collective suffering—treating work and duty as offerings aligned with dharma.
