Parīkṣit’s Final Absorption, Takṣaka’s Bite, Janamejaya’s Snake Sacrifice, and the Vedic Sound-Lineage
Thus end the purports of the humble servants of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda to the Twelfth Canto, Sixth Chapter, of the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, entitled “Mahārāja Parīkṣit Passes Away.”
This verse describes how sacred teachings were organized into saṁhitās and then carefully passed from a teacher to disciples, showing that authentic knowledge is preserved through disciplined transmission.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī speaks this while outlining the orderly preservation of Vedic teachings, emphasizing continuity and authenticity in the tradition.
Seek learning from reliable teachers, study systematically, and pass on what you learn responsibly—protecting the integrity of spiritual teachings rather than treating them casually.
