This verse states that Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam includes the narrations (upākhyānas) of Ila and Tārā as part of its sacred historical accounts.
Śukadeva summarizes the Bhāgavatam’s contents, noting that it recounts important royal lineages like the Sūryavaṁśa, beginning with Śaśāda and including Nṛga and others.
They encourage seeing history through dharma and karma—learning from the lives of kings and personalities and using those lessons to cultivate integrity, responsibility, and devotion.
