Balarāma Slays Balvala and Visits Sacred Tīrthas; He Attempts to Stop Bhīma–Duryodhana
This verse describes the sages honoring Balarāma with prayers and a ceremonial anointing, acknowledging His divine supremacy and auspicious presence, much like the gods honored Indra after a great victory.
It highlights the grandeur of the honor shown: just as the demigods anointed Indra (vṛtraghna) after his celebrated triumph, the sages similarly anoint Balarāma to mark divine glory and auspiciousness.
Offer sincere praise and gratitude to the Lord and His devotees, and value sacred ceremonies (like abhiṣeka) as moments to remember divine greatness and renew devotion.
