Duryodhana’s Envy at Yudhiṣṭhira’s Rājasūya and the Avabhṛtha Festival
जहास भीमस्तं दृष्ट्वा स्त्रियो नृपतयोऽपरे । निवार्यमाणा अप्यङ्ग राज्ञा कृष्णानुमोदिता: ॥ ३८ ॥
jahāsa bhīmas taṁ dṛṣṭvā striyo nṛpatayo pare nivāryamāṇā apy aṅga rājñā kṛṣṇānumoditāḥ
Nang makita iyon, tumawa si Bhīma; tumawa rin ang mga babae, ang ibang mga hari, at ang iba pa. Sinikap ni Haring Yudhiṣṭhira na pigilan sila, ngunit ipinakita ni Śrī Kṛṣṇa ang Kanyang pagsang-ayon.
Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī mentions that King Yudhiṣṭhira tried to check the laughter by glancing at the women and Bhīma. Lord Kṛṣṇa, however, gave approval with a gesture of His eyebrows. The Lord had come to the earth to remove the burden of wicked kings, and this incident was not unrelated to the Lord’s purpose.
