Kṛṣṇa Teases Rukmiṇī; Her Devotional Reply and the Lord’s Assurance
पर्यङ्कादवरुह्याशु तामुत्थाप्य चतुर्भुज: । केशान् समुह्य तद्वक्त्रं प्रामृजत् पद्मपाणिना ॥ २६ ॥
paryaṅkād avaruhyāśu tām utthāpya catur-bhujaḥ keśān samuhya tad-vaktraṁ prāmṛjat padma-pāṇinā
Mabilis na bumaba ang Panginoon mula sa higaan. Ipinamalas Niya ang apat na bisig, inangat siya, inayos ang kanyang buhok, at hinaplos at pinunasan ang kanyang mukha gamit ang Kanyang kamay na tulad ng lotus.
The Lord manifested four hands so He could do all of these things simultaneously.
In this verse, Kṛṣṇa personally rises, lifts Rukmiṇī, and tenderly wipes her face—showing that Bhagavān is not distant, but lovingly attentive to a devotee’s distress.
Within the Rukmiṇī–Kṛṣṇa dialogue, Rukmiṇī becomes emotionally overwhelmed; Kṛṣṇa responds with intimate care, reassuring her through affectionate action rather than mere words.
It teaches devotees to trust Krishna’s personal concern and also to embody bhakti by offering gentle, respectful care to loved ones who are distressed.
