The Murder of Satrājit and the Recovery of the Syamantaka Jewel
so ’pi kṛtodyamaṁ jñātvā bhītaḥ prāṇa-parīpsayā sāhāyye kṛtavarmāṇam ayācata sa cābravīt
This verse shows a character becoming afraid for his life and seeking support based on self-preservation, highlighting how fear can push one toward questionable alliances and adharma.
Because he understood that decisive action was being taken against him and, fearing for his life, he sought Kṛtavarmā’s assistance as a means of protection.
When pressured by fear, avoid impulsive choices and harmful partnerships; seek guidance and protection through dharmic counsel rather than panic-driven alliances.
